Peter Aloisson, who makes phones covered in gold and diamonds for affluent clients, is the man responsible for making the most expensive phone ever. The new phone beat the previous record held by another Aloisson 'Diamante' phone - an identical model featuring a paltry 950 diamonds laid into the gold bodywork. That phone retailed for 23, 000 pound sterling. "The people who buy my phones don't have to worry about security - they all have bodyguards," he told UK tabloid The Sun.

Most Expensive Video Game

Doom was a revolutionary first person shooter, released in 1993 to worldwide acclaim. Only 11 people are credited for this game, which took only a year to develop from start to finish. It’s not clear how big the development budget was, but it was typical for most games of that time to have a budgets around $200,000.
Today the production of a video game can cost upwards of tens of millions of dollars and sometimes takes over 5 years to develop. Releasing an A-list title is a massive business undertaking, employing many hundreds of people. An incredible amount of risk is involved in releasing a title. Big name publishers lean towards releasing sequels and safer titles that appeal to a broader audience.

Sometimes an ambitious game developer will completely overrun its budget and development time. Sometimes this results in an epic title that breaks all the rules set before it. More often than not, it results in poor reviews, poor sales and a generally crappy video game. By now you might be wondering, what is the most expensive video game ever made? It’s a Sega Dreamcast game called Shenmue. Released in 1999, the project cost over $20 million and took over 7 years to complete. It was produced and directed by Yu Suzuki for the Sega-AM2 (Sega Amusement Machine Research and Development Department 2).

Shenmue boasted unparalled freedom and interactivity, even a real time weather system. But this wasn’t enough to impress, the most expensive video game received mixed reviews and experienced mediocre sales. Nonetheless, the expensive game inspired a massive fan base that remains active to this day.

World's Most Expensive Actor

Who is the most expensive actor in the world?

The question should be what, not who, and the answer is a mouse. Stuart Little demanded a hefty price tag of $50,000 to $100,000 per four second shot to create.

According to Forbes from June 2004 to June 2005 Mel Gibson earned $185 million making him the most expensive actor to hire for a year. He ranked #3 of most expensive celebrities behind George Lucas and Oprah Winfrey.

We believe Tom Cruise to be the most expensive actor. Although he did not receive a single penny as a salary, his 20% profit sharing for War of the Worlds (2005) will surely set the record.

World’s Most Expensive Motorcycles

World’s Most Expensive Motorcycles

Motorcycles have had mass appeal to the general public for roughly a century and a half. An American named Sylvester Howard Roper designed one of the first motorcycles in the 1860s. The motorcycle was displayed at fairs and circuses around the eastern U.S.. Europeans also had their hand in popularizing motorcycles and during the World Wars, motorcycles functioned as a quick means of transportation.
As the motorcycle progressed, the engines and frames became bigger, sleeker, faster and more powerful, resulting in the high-tech and expensive motorcycles of today. If you can afford one, a custom motorcycle built to your exact specifications is within reach.

Currently, the most expensive motorcycles in production are fetching in between $100,000 and $200,000 US. While researching expensive motorcycles, we found 4 bikes that dominate all others in performance, appearance…and cost.

The fourth most expensive motorcycle we found is the new MV Agusta F4 CC created by Claudio Castiglioni, the motorcycle company’s director. He wanted to create a spectacular motorcycle that met strategic marketing needs while also being something truly special and unique. The expensive motorcycle bearing his very own initials “CC” has a top speed of 315 kph (195 mph), 1078 cc’s and a 198 hp engine. Each bike will boast a platinum plate located near the top of the steering column showing the model number from 1 to 100, making this motorcycle all the more special to its owners. This Italian dream costs 100,000 Euros ($133,745US).

MV Agusta F4 CC

Next on our list is the MTT Turbine Superbike costing $150,000 (111,000 Euros). Not only is this motorcycle expensive, its also extremely fast. The Superbike is the Guinness World Record holder for the “Most Powerful Motorcycle Ever to Enter Series Production”. The turbine engine in this one is made by Rolls Royce and is capable of over 300hp. The motorcycle also boasts carbon fiber fairings, a rear mounted camera with LCD color display, forward-and rear-looking radar detector with laser scrambler, one touch “Smart Start” ignition, and many other cool gadgets. This bike seams to be pretty popular in Hollywood. It starred in the movie “Torque” and even Jay Leno owns one!

MTT Turbine Superbike

The Macchia Nera Concept Bike is near the top of the list of most expensive motorcycles at 150,000 Euros ($201,000). Built around a Ducati 998RS engine, its Italian designers and engineers set out to create an extremely high tech and expensive motorcycle that would be thought of as “the ultimate track bike” that is “simply beautiful and beautifully simple”. The Testastretta engine is fitted with lightweight metals and alloys like titanium and aluminum making it very lightweight. The view from the side of the Macchia Nera shows exposed belts and engine components, giving its design a minimalist feel while still being aesthetically pleasing. We should add that this bike is a one of a kind and not in produced for retail at this point, but if you have an extra 150,000 Euros ($201,000) laying around for an expensive toy, your dream might come true.

Macchia Nera Concept Bike

The most expensive motorcycle in production will cost you at least $250,000. The production is limited to a few hundred models, so you better place your order. The Dodge Tomahawk V10 superbike boasts 8.3 liter engine (505 cubic inch), and the 10 cylinders can bring the bike to a maximum speed of almost 400 mph. The 1500lb bike has an independent 4 wheel suspension and can reach 60 mph in around 2.5 seconds.

Most Expensive Shift Knob

Owning a Bentley has long been a certifiable symbol of status and high-class, now you can take it one step further with the diamond encrusted Bentley shift knob. You could easily purchase several new cars for the price of this one knob. Bentley has been making automobiles out of Britain since the 1920’s and interestingly enough, one of the company’s earliest owners was heir to a diamond mine fortune. Bentley Motors saw hard times in the Great Depression when it was sold to its competitor, Rolls Royce in 1931.

The most expensive shift knob will certainly gain you a lot of attention, maybe even a shattered window from a break-in attempt. If you can afford this expensive shift knob then you can probably also afford some nice window tinting.

So, how much is it worth, you may ask? The Bentley Gear Shift Knob is approximately worth $150,000 and features 30 carats of diamonds, and 10 ounces of 18-carat white gold. Just to give you an example of how ridiculous this shift knob really is, the Bentley Continental GT costs $165,000. How could anyone justify the purchase of a diamond encrusted gear shift knob!?

The LP Wheel Group (IcedOutEmz) designed the expensive shift knob and owner Tony Lee reports that they have not found a buyer yet.

Most Expensive Bed Mattress

People have been tirelessly searching for the best and most comfortable mattress for years. Tempur-Pedic, Kingsdown, Select Comfort, and Healthsmart by Simmons are some of the most recognizable names in mattresses, and some of the best sellers too. Beds with these brand names are known for their hypoallergenic components and control switches. What’s funny about the expensive bed market is that there are no conclusive studies about what surface is better for the most productive sleep, it simply has to do with individual preference.

The Vividus (made by Hastens), Latin for “full of life”, is the most expensive bed in the world. Sleeping on the Swedish designed Vividus bed has been described as “sleeping on a cloud.” All that sounds pretty appealing until you see the price tag of $49,500US. That price is scheduled to go up to $59,750US in April. The cost of your average queen size bed is around $700, obviously people are up for spending way more

Not even a dozen of the most expensive beds have been sold yet, but many “cheaper” and similar beds have been sold for around $20,000.

The recent trend in designer beds and mattresses shows that people in general are investing more time and money into their home in general. Some of these people who can afford are connecting health to sleep instead of plainly looking at sleep as just another routine.

Most Expensive Laptop

If you thought your 17” Apple MacBook or Alienware Aurora mALX qualified as an expensive laptop, think again.

In 1982 GriD Systems released the Compass 1100 laptop costing about $10,000 (inflation adjusted $20,200). Even this cost pales in comparison to the reports of a costly laptop that luxury manufacturer Luvaglio London is set to release in the near future by special order the most expensive laptop ever sold, with a price tag of a million dollars.

As of now all of the details are very sparse and the technical specifications have not been made fully available. We aren’t even sure what this laptop is made with to give it a cost of $1,000,000, but the exterior looks impressive. You can bet with a price this excessive, the expensive laptop will be a spectacle of precious metals and materials and include more than a couple gemstones.

In late 2005 the Dutch company Ego Lifestyle B.V. released the Tulip E-Go Diamond laptop, which was previously the world’s most expensive laptop and this mobile computer had over 80 total carats of diamonds and a retail price of €283,000.

Most Expensive Cricket Ball

Most Expensive Headphones

High-tech expensive gadgets are nothing special in today’s world. Technological progress is available to the discerning consumer, if they can afford the latest innovations. The ULTRASONE Edition 9 Limited Edition S-Logic Natural Surround Sound Headphone showcases the highest quality product in the personal/home audio market today, and it is no surprise that the it is also the world’s most expensive headphones.

Less stress is put on your eardrums because pressure is decreases by up to 40% (3-4dB), allegedly reducing the risk of hearing damage.

Ultrasone’s most expensive headphones also utilize ULE technology with an MU metal shield that reduces radiation by up to 98%. . The ULTRASONE Edition 9 Limited Edition S-Logic Natural Surround Sound Headphone is certainly a luxury to be had by the most discriminating audiophile. At a retail price of $1499.00, they better sound good.

Most Expensive Bed

This past summer’s Millionaire Fair in Kortrijk, Belgium saw the debut of a magnetic floating bed that pretty much takes the cake for the coolest bed in the world, and the most expensive. Regular, conventional beds and mattresses aren’t seeing a lot of changes to their technology and structure these days, that’s where Dutch architect Janjaap Ruijssenaars comes in. The goal in his project was to make a usable artifact that doesn’t employ the standard laws of gravity, but another force to convey its image, like magnetism.

Ruijssenaars reportedly worked on the technology for the most expensive bed for six years in collaboration with Bakker Magnetics. Permanent opposing industrial-strength magnets allow the bed to float around 40cm off the floor and can hold 900kg. This visually pleasing technology could also be applied to other areas in home decor like coffee tables, sofas, and Japanese dining tables. How cool would it be to eat sushi and drink sake off a floating table?

The price of the most expensive bed (for the full-size unit) will run you EU€1,200,000 ($1.6 million US) and the smaller unit, one fifth of the full size costs EU€115,000 ($153,000US). If you are a millionaire and simply must have this eye-catching bed, the people at Universe Architecture would be happy to make it happen for you.

Most Expensive Car in the World 2006

If your passion for performance and luxury autos cannot be stopped, and your McLaren F1 is becoming a bore with the rest of your exotic cars, it might be time to check out the long awaited Veyron from Bugatti. At 1.25 million, it is the most expensive car ever made. So what car value do you get for all that money?
This is not your typical luxury car. How about a W-16 (essentially two narrow-angle V-8s sharing a crankshaft) with four turbochargers generating 1001 hp, throw in all-wheel drive and you’ve got a seriously fast car.
The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 hits 60 mph in 2.5 secs., does the quarter-mile in 10.5 secs. and reaches its top speed of 252 mph in just 55 secs. After a long absence from the market Bugatti (with a little help from parent company Volkswagen) has reclaimed its title as the ultimate performance car and reigns supreme as the world’s most expensive car in production.

10 World's Most Expensive Hotel Suites

Presidential Suite, The Plaza
Location: New York, New York
Luxury Trademark: A wine cellar, library and hotel staff at disposal
-----------------------------------------
Guests who are rolling in the dough can check into the same digs as tycoon Alfred Vanderbilt! The 28-year-old chose to make the brand-new Plaza hotel his bachelor pad back in 1907 when an entire year's bill was only $25,000. Since then, little has changed — except the prices. Now, one night's stay is a cool $15,000, and the Plaza is still heralded as the city's most elite hotel. The two-level Presidential Suite occupies the entire 18th floor of the hotel; plus, guests have access to a rooftop area. Within the 7,800-square-foot space, there are two living rooms, a parlor and a library. That's in addition to six bedrooms and seven — yes, seven — bathrooms. The suite also has a private wine cellar, four balconies and a staff of maids, a butler and chauffeur with a Rolls Royce. For those quick snacks, there's even a private chef on call at any hour of the day.

Location: New York, New YorkLuxury Trademark: Whirlpool marble baths and Louis XV furniture
-----------------------------------------
For travelers in the market for luxury, the St. Regis, another New York hotel with a lengthy pedigree, serves it up on a silver platter (to those who can pay $10,500 a day). The hefty rate buys guests a three-bedroom, four-and-half-bath suite with views of Central Park. John Jacob Astor opened the St. Regis in the early 1900s, and although much has changed in New York during the last hundred years, some things are exactly the same as they were in 1904.
