People have been tirelessly searching for the best and most comfortable mattress for years. Tempur-Pedic, Kingsdown, Select Comfort, and Healthsmart by Simmons are some of the most recognizable names in mattresses, and some of the best sellers too. Beds with these brand names are known for their hypoallergenic components and control switches. What’s funny about the expensive bed market is that there are no conclusive studies about what surface is better for the most productive sleep, it simply has to do with individual preference.

The Vividus (made by Hastens), Latin for “full of life”, is the most expensive bed in the world. Sleeping on the Swedish designed Vividus bed has been described as “sleeping on a cloud.” All that sounds pretty appealing until you see the price tag of $49,500US. That price is scheduled to go up to $59,750US in April. The cost of your average queen size bed is around $700, obviously people are up for spending way more

Not even a dozen of the most expensive beds have been sold yet, but many “cheaper” and similar beds have been sold for around $20,000.

The recent trend in designer beds and mattresses shows that people in general are investing more time and money into their home in general. Some of these people who can afford are connecting health to sleep instead of plainly looking at sleep as just another routine.
