1. The Mansion-MGM Grand, Las Vegas
While normally reserved for the hotel's highest rollers, The Mansion at the MGM Grand recently began accepting reservations (a hotel spokesperson says that guests still need to meet "certain criteria," though). The 30 apartment-style villas come with their own pool, and original artwork from the likes of Picasso, Leger and Matisse grace the walls. 2. Londolozi Private Game Reserve - South Africa
The Londolozi Private Game Reserve is often considered the gold standard of African lodges--and is also the most expensive in South Africa. There are only 36 rooms, with a staff-to-guest ratio of three to one. Rooms have a sleek look (with the requisite mosquito netting) and all activities are centered around game drives in open air Land Rovers, as well as bush walks led by native trackers. 3. The Singita Private Game Reserve - South Africa
The Singita Private Game Reserve spreads out over 19,000 hectares bordering Kruger National Park, South Africa's largest game park. This Relais & Chateaux resort offers 18 suites, and the highlight of any trip is the twice-daily game drives. 4. Le Toiny, St.Bart - French West Indies
Le Toiny is one of St. Bart's most glamorous hotels, and also its most expensive. The resort has only 12 suites housed in six separate villas, and the nearest beach is Grande Saline, a nude beach. Each secluded suite has an ocean view, as well as a private pool and kitchenette. 5. Turtle Island - Fiji
the filming of both Blue Lagoon movies and most recently was seen on ABC as the honeymoon destination choice of the Bachelorette. This Small Luxury Hotel has only 14 bures, or traditional thatched wooden huts, and appropriately, there are 14 beaches on the island. Eight can be reserved for private picnics. 6. Frégate Island - Seychelles
régate Island, a private island resort in the Seychelles, has only 16 villas and accommodates 40 guests at a time. Bill and Melinda Gates, as well as Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston have stayed here. The resort has seven beaches, as well as snorkeling, scuba diving and hiking. Frégate has its own marina with a fleet of ships--including small sailboats, yachts, catamarans and motor yachts for deep-sea fishing. About 50 years ago, the Huka Lodge started as four simple canvas-clad huts located on a river bend above the majestic Huka Falls. 10. Little Palm Island - Florida
For many people, the Florida Keys will always be about Papa Hemingway and Jimmy Buffet, but for a more sophisticated experience, head to Little Palm Island.
